Orlando Wetlands

January 2025

Florida State Park is a showcase for   1650 acres of various wetland habitats with wide berm roads throughout. Created by the City of Orlando Public Works Department, Water Reclamation Division, to provide advanced treatment for reclaimed water. 

Homosassa Springs State Park

Florida State Park is a showcase for Florida's native wildlife in a natural setting of woods and wetlands. Stroll along the Wildlife Walk to view black bears, foxes, river otters, bobcats, key deer and hundreds of birds. 

Circle B Bar Reserve

 The preserve has been designated as a Great Florida Birding Trail site, a program of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Sites are selected for their excellent birdwatching, wildlife viewing, or educational opportunities.  

Honeymoon Island

Marshall Hampton Park in Lakeland

 Circle B Bar Reserve, on the northwest shore of Lake Hancock, is a  former cattle ranch that today boasts a wide variety of plants and  animals. You can see several distinct ecosystems in this reserve of  1,267 acres.  

Homosassa Springs Wildlife park

 Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park is located near Homosassa  Springs, Florida, in the United States. The park is one of the notable  locations in the state to view manatees. Visitors can get close to the  animals on a floating observatory.  

St. Augustine Alligator Farm

 St. Augustine Alligator Farm.  Native herons, egrets, spoonbills, and wood storks seek the security of our Alligator Swamp to roost and raise their young. With hundreds of alligators swimming beneath the oak branches, the birds know their young are safe from tree-climbing predators.   

Circle B-Bar Natural Trails

 Circle B Bar Reserve is a nature reserve  Polk County and the Southwest Florida Water Management District acquired  Circle B Bar Reserve in December 2000 to protect the valuable water and  wildlife resources and to restore the Banana Creek marsh system. 

Fort DeSoto Park

South-southwest of St. Petersburg, Florida, Fort De Soto Park is on five offshore keys. Historically, used for military fortifications.  There are currently 328 species of birds and more are being added every year.
